Baby Yoh – A Story of Connection & Creation

As a Dakelh Indigenous artist from the Nadleh Whut’en Yinka Dene First Nation in BC, Canada, I draw from my ancestral roots to tell stories that honor the connection between all living beings.

Baby Yoh is a tribute to the Golden Eagle, Yoh, a sacred guardian of the highest realms. Yoh’s cry resonates through creation, a vibration that connects the earth, water, and sky. In Indigenous teachings, every element is intertwined—the Bear represents strength and respect, the Killer Whale (the Great Hunter) embodies the ocean’s spirit, and the Salmon serves as the life force, returning through the sacred veins of water. The four feathers symbolize the Indigenous flag colors—White, Red, Black, and Yellow—honoring the unity of all races as All My Relations.

At the heart of this painting is the eternal cycle of connection, guided by Yoh’s watchful presence. Nadleh is the place ‘Where the Salmon Return’, and in this sacred cycle, the land, water, and all beings remain interwoven under the Sun and Moon.

Midnight Yoh – The Watcher in the Dark

Midnight Yoh captures the mystique of Yoh, the Golden Eagle, as he soars through the night, a silent guardian of the land. Bathed in the glow of the moon and stars, Yoh’s presence reminds us that even in darkness, there is wisdom, protection, and connection.

This piece embodies the sacred balance between night and day, spirit and earth, guiding those who seek truth and transformation.

Wolf Spirit – The Eternal Guardian

Under the moon’s embrace, Yus, the Wolf Spirit, prowls—a shadow woven into the fabric of time. His steps echo the whispers of ancestors, his nose traces the stories carried by the wind. Guided by starlight, he hunts not just for sustenance, but for destiny, his heart beating in rhythm with the land’s eternal pulse.

His eyes gleam with the wisdom of ages, bridging the seen and unseen, the living and the spirit realm. With each howl, he sings the song of his forebears, a voice that resonates across the valleys of time.

Mama Sturgeon – The Sacred Guardian of Life

In the sacred depths of British Columbia’s ancient waters, **Lhkw’encho Aloo—the Mother Sturgeon—**moves with the grace of generations past. A symbol of creation, balance, and the unbreakable bond between mother and child, she cradles her offspring in the quiet rhythm of the Creator’s breath. Her iridescent scales reflect the wisdom of the land, a living testament to the sacred power of motherhood.

As a Dakelh artist and storyteller, I honor her presence in my work, weaving her spirit into each brushstroke—not just as a guardian of the waters, but as an eternal symbol of devotion, love, and sacrifice. She teaches that motherhood is the heartbeat of existence, nurturing the future while carrying the wisdom of the past.

For those who understand the sacredness of motherhood, Mama Sturgeon is more than art—it is a tribute to the life-givers, the protectors, the ones who hold the world together.

Johnny Ketlo – Bringing Legends to Life Through Animation

As a Dakelh filmmaker, artist, and storyteller, I breathe life into Indigenous legends and original narratives through dynamic animation and unforgettable characters. My work blends traditional storytelling with modern techniques, creating visually striking, culturally rich animations that resonate with all audiences.

From the mythical beings of Dakelh lore to bold new heroes, my characters embody the strength, wisdom, and humor of Indigenous identity. Whether it’s the powerful Shapeshifter, the celestial Baby Yoh, or the guiding force of Mama Sturgeon, each figure is carefully crafted to tell a deeper story—one of resilience, connection, and the spirit of the land.

Using hand-drawn elements, motion graphics, and digital animation, I bring these worlds to life with a signature style that fuses tradition with innovation. My animations aren’t just entertainment; they are immersive experiences that educate, inspire, and honor the ancestral wisdom passed down through generations.

Looking to collaborate on a visually stunning, culturally powerful animated project? Let’s create something legendary.
