Baby Yoh print, from Dakelh Indigenous Artist Johnny Ketlo III (Shunultus) of Nadleh Whut'en Yinka Dene First Nation in BC Canada. 24" x 36" Framed Print. Free shipping. No Tax The Golden Eagle lives in the highest regions of the earth. His name is Yoh. The note he speaks from his beak is connected to all creation. Yoh-Ho-Ah-Hey Yoh exists where there is very little oxygen. Anything that comes into his domain. He eats. In the celestial Heavens where Yoh dwells are the Sun and the Moon, respectively. They represent that upper atmosphere. The Bear is an absolutely respected creature through all Indigenous culture and takes place in this painting in the Sun to reflect his respected stature. Yoh watches over the land and the people, the salmon and the oceans, he sees everything. The four feathers are the Indigenous flag colors of White, Red, Black and Yellow. Recognizant of the different races of the earth as ‘All my relations’ the human race in all their different colors. All different yet still related through the earth. Connected in a hoop, in a circle that never ends. The Killer Whale, ‘the Great Hunter’ lives in the ocean. The salmon return from the ocean to the rivers through the Earth's veins of sacred water. This further illustrates the connection of all creatures and Dene people. Water represents life and connection to the Creator, proof of Heaven. You are made of water, you can change the structure of water with vibration. Like that of your voice when you sing in prayer, or play the sacred drum. Yoh-Hey-Ah-Hey The salmon is like the life’s blood that runs in the veins of the Earth. Feeding all of creation from the Bear, to the Killer Whale, to the Dene (the people) we say in Dakelh - Yinka Dene (the people of the Earth), of all races connected all under the Sun and the Moon. Nadleh is the place ‘Where the Salmon Return’. All under Yoh’s watchful eye. Yoh rarely comes down from his place in the upper realms. In the highest mountains. Where there is very little oxygen. This print is titled:

Yus. The wolf in spirit. Beneath the embrace of the moon, the wolf spirit prowls, his form a shadowed symphony against the night's canvas. With every step, his paws tread upon the ancient whispers of his ancestors, woven into the very fabric of the earth. His nose, a keen oracle, hovers just above the earth, tasting the stories that the wind carries.
Guided by the celestial lantern above, he embarks upon the sacred hunt – not merely for sustenance, but to trace the trails of destiny etched by his forebears. His heart beats in rhythm with the drum of time, resonating with the primal cadence of the land. The songs of long-lost souls echo in his ears, tales of valor and survival passed down through generations like whispers through a timeless breeze.
Each rustling leaf, each flicker of starlight, holds secrets for him to glean. The night air becomes a tapestry of scents, telling tales of the forest's pulse and the creatures that dance within it. The wolf spirit follows these olfactory constellations, an intricate map of the living and the spiritual.
His eyes, gleaming, reflect the wisdom of ages. They are windows into the realm where corporeal and ethereal intertwine, where the wolf's essence melds with the ageless spirits that have guarded these lands since the dawn of time.
As he roams, his howl carries both his solitary song and the harmonies of those who came before. It echoes across valleys and windswept plains, a sonorous declaration of his place within the symphony of existence. In that mournful serenade, the wolf spirit's yearning for guidance merges with the ancient echoes, bridging the gap between his mortal form and the vast tapestry of his ancestry.
And so, under the moon's tender gaze, with his nose to the wind and his heart entwined with the spirits of the ancestors, the wolf journeys. His steps echo the wisdom of his people, his hunt a pilgrimage to decipher the path laid before him. He is the embodiment of the land's enduring pulse, a guardian of traditions who walks the boundaries between the seen and the unseen. Spice up your blank walls with this head-turning framed canvas! This high-quality pine tree framed canvas comes with rubber pads on the back corners and wall mount that makes hanging the artwork hassle-free. What’s more, the frame gives the canvas a cool floating effect!

Lhkw'encho Aloo

Amidst the lush embrace of British Columbia's ancient forests and shimmering lakes, the heart of Dakelh Indigenous artistry comes alive in the profound reverence for Lhkw'encho Aloo, the revered Mother Sturgeon, cradling her precious offspring within the sacred depths of the waters. In the tranquil embrace of these waters, where time dances to the rhythm of the Creator's breath, Lhkw'encho Aloo reigns as a symbol of life's genesis and continuity. Her iridescent scales catch the dappled sunlight, each scale a mosaic of stories etched into the tapestry of the Dakelh people's existence. She moves with the grace of generations past, embodying the wisdom of the ancestors and the spirit of the land. As an Indigenous artist of this ancient lineage, I am humbled to capture the essence of Lhkw'encho Aloo in my creations. I endeavor to convey the spiritual significance she holds. The motherly devotion, unspoken understanding, and boundless love flow from my heart to the canvas, intertwining with the timeless threads of tradition. The connection between Lhkw'encho Aloo and her offspring transcends the tangible realm, reaching into the spiritual embrace that envelops all of creation. She imparts to her progeny the teachings of balance, harmony, and unity — lessons that have been whispered through generations and now echoed through my art. In the sacred depths of the lake, where the shimmering surface mirrors the heavens above, Lhkw'encho Aloo's presence is a reminder of our interconnectedness with the natural world. Her silent presence echoes the heartbeat of our people and the rhythm of the cosmos. She embodies the delicate equilibrium that the Dakelh community strives to maintain, nurturing not just her offspring but also the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of generations yet to come. I seek to honor Lhkw'encho Aloo's grace and the ancestral legacy she represents. My art becomes a conduit through which the past and present merge, carrying the profound wisdom of the Dakelh people forward into a future where culture, spirituality, and nature harmonize in the most exquisite symphony.
